The only project I've worked on has been BATB. I'm almost done with the first quarter of the chart and will need to finish gridding the other sections. Should I back stitch now or wait and do all of it at the end?
That is a beautiful chart! I really must stop checking out all these blogs as my wishlist is getting far too long.
You've made some great progress. I'm terrible for projects becoming UFO's with just the backstitching to be done so I've now tried to do some of it as I go!
Thank you! I've not tackled a project this size before. I know I'll save the French knots for the end so they don't get smooshed but maybe I'll do the back stitching by the quarter/finished element.
Good choice I completely agree with you. Do the backstitching as you go so that you aren't faced with an overwhelming amount of it at the end. Plus you won't get bored and it's inspiring to see sections fully completed as you go.
Your stitching is lovely, I have always admired the Disney charts and I am resisting the temptation to buy one or four of them. LOL! I'll enjoy it through your work for now. Beautiful progress so far. xo
I started doing a little backstitching last night, I think you're all right that that's the way to go. Plus it is nice seeing the elements pop out more and look finished!
Hi Kris - your email showed as no reply, so I hope you get this! I'm not using a pen, I'm using a lime green Sulky thread that I had laying around and pulling it out as I go. It's not as nice as a fishing line or metallic ribbon thread as I can and have pierced it which makes it more difficult to pull out but I manage in small sections. I was scared of using the pen and having it not wash out!

Ohh I vote for back stitching as you go. Nothing like having a project all stitched and sighing over doing back stitching.

DeleteYour project is looking really great! I am a believer in backstitching as I go along. I think my eyes would not like to try nothing but backstitching.
ReplyDeleteYou've made a ton of progress! It's looking very pretty.
ReplyDeleteGreat progress - congratulations. I'm another who would backstitch it as I went.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! This is on my wish-list. I would backsitch as I go along.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. I love the colors of the sky. What type of pen do you use for the grid? Does it wash out or just fade away?
